What It Teaches: Math, science, history, and more.
Why It’s Great: Khan Academy has tons of lessons in all subjects.
We started using this app when my oldest was 2. It’s great for all ages and love the company and story behind it.
The videos and quizzes make learning easy and fun!
You can pick a subject and go at your own speed.
It’s perfect for learning new topics or reviewing old ones.
PBS Kids
What It Teaches: Reading, math, social studies, and more.
Why It’s Great: PBS Kids has games and videos with characters like Arthur, Curious George, and the Wild Kratts!
Especially great with younger kids. Even has a parent section.
Great starting point.
The games teach lessons in reading, math, and even friendship. It’s safe and easy to use.
Duolingo
What It Teaches: Languages (like Spanish, French, German, and more).
Why It’s Great: Duolingo makes learning a new language feel like a game.
We use this app as a family and can dip in and out.
You can practice speaking, listening, and reading in different languages.
It’s a fun way to start learning words and phrases in another language.
National Geographic Kids
What It Teaches: Science, animals, geography, and nature.
Why It’s Great: National Geographic Kids has lots of fun facts, videos, and games about animals, space, the environment, and more.

My oldest went through a phase of wanting to learn coding and this site was great.

Why It’s Great: Storyline Online has videos of actors reading children’s books aloud.
It’s a great way to enjoy new stories or hear some favourites in a fun way!

It’s like playing a video game while practising math!
This works well for my youngest who isn’t very confident with maths.

Why It’s Great: ABCmouse is perfect for kids ages 2–8.
