Roarr Play Adventure Park in Norfolk has been classed as the no.1 largest dinosaur theme park.

That statement is quite impressive, right?

My youngest is dinosaur-mad. She has dinosaur underwear, bedding, clothes, shoes, bags, hats and even a dinosaur bedroom. Wow. lol.

So we had high hopes for Roarr.

About my review

As you know from being a regular reader and a subscriber. (wink) I do reviews on the places we go as a home education family and other events too.

Check out my other reviews of Harry Potter World and Portugal.

We didn’t book Roarr as a home education group but they do offer group bookings.

This review is a personal and honest experience of our time at Roarr. My family and some wonderful friends went with us. This post is not sponsored.

General information about Roarr

Getting there is easy, all the directions are on the Roarr website, plus Google is always my go-to.

Ticket prices are steep at £21.95 per person if you prebook. We booked the day before and got this price.

For a family of 4, it was £83. We used this site and got 18% off.

You can also buy a pass at £79.95 per person. This also includes discounts on lots of other things around the park.

Opening hours are 10 am – 5 pm but the splash park closes at 4.30 pm

Be aware that at different times of the year, they close off some of the parks. They have this all very clearly displayed on their website.

You can download the app which can be used to guide you around the park.

I am aware they offer lots of events and you can find all this on the Roarr website.

Access and parking

We arrived at 10.15 and found a huge area for parking.

There is a great big T-Rex at the entrance that you can take pictures with. My two loved this. Great first impression.

Entrance experience

A short 10-minute queue to get in. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This was the longest time we waited for anything the whole day.

As you go through the ticket entrance to roarr you will find, no surprise, dinosaurs! But also a large play area with picnic tables.

Zones

From a splash pool, go-karting, a dinosaur trail, indoor soft play, animals and rides there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied.

My children are 9 and 6 whilst my friend’s youngest is 4. Even us adults had a blast. Something for everyone here.

I really loved how all the rides were included in the entrance fee.

The two older girls went and did the high ropes.

Please make sure you bring closed-toe shoes and a hairband. Some people were turned away from rides and the high ropes for safety reasons.

If you would like to take part in any of the rides, best to bring an extra set of closed-toe shoes.

Animal encounters

Sadly we didn’t see much of the animals, mainly because we ran out of time. Definitely worth going again just to see the rest of the park.

The animals we did see were guinea pigs, pigs, turkeys, peacocks and rabbits.

Roarr is educational

Doing the dino trail through the woods was one of my favourite bits.

It was filled with nature. Big dinos and lots of signs with the names, information and how to pronounce the dinosaurs.

Obviously, this was quite a laugh for us adults trying to get these names right.

How clean was Roarr?

Toilets are dotted around the park and I found them to be clean. I’m quite fussy about cleanliness so take it from me, these were good.

Even the picnic areas and the dreaded germ-infested soft play were all clean and looked after.

Food and Drink

You can get reasonably priced drinks and food too including ice creams.

My youngest has a dairy allergy so we took a picnic. We did buy an ice cream and there were options for her, this isn’t something she always gets.

Indoor and outdoor picnic areas along with plenty of bins and seating.

The Roarrsome staff

The staff at Roarr were friendly, helpful and in good spirits.

From asking for directions to helping kids on and off rides. Even politely reminding parents not to take pictures of kids in the splash pool.

They were all very professional and great with the kids.

Roarr has done a great job at creating a family-friendly adventure park that doesn’t bore the adults.

Improvements?

My only slight irritation is that the splash pool and the rides close an hour before the whole park closes. I believe they do this to allow the staff time to clean the areas thoroughly. Of course, I understand, but my kids did not.

Bee's Final Thoughts

All in all, I would recommend going to Roarr for a family day out. The prices are a little steep in my view. We all had a great time and we actually got offered a 50% off discount for a return during the school holidays.

I would advise you to be aware of the time when you are there so you don’t miss out on the splash pool.

My girls had a brilliant time as did we adults, what better way to spend a day with family and friends.
