1. Eat Fruits and Vegetables

I know, the dreaded fruit and veg but eating fruits and vegetables is one of the best things you can do for your body.

They are full of vitamins, minerals, and fibre that help you grow strong and keep your body working well.

Try to eat a variety of colours, like red apples, orange carrots, green broccoli, and purple grapes.

You can have fruits and veggies as snacks, with meals, or in smoothies. Aim for at least 5 servings a day!

My kids and I love veggie sticks with dip.

2. Drink Water

Your body needs water to stay healthy.

Water helps you stay hydrated, keeps your skin soft, and helps your body digest food.

It’s important to drink water throughout the day, especially when it’s hot or when you’re exercising.

Try to drink about 8 cups of water every day.

If you find it hard to drink plain water like I do, you can add some fruit slices like lemon or orange to make it tastier.

3. Move Your Body

Being active is important for your muscles, bones, and heart.

Try to do something active every day, like running, jumping, dancing, or playing sports.

You don’t have to do anything fancy – even walking the dog or playing tag with your kids counts!

If you suffer from chronic pain like I do then Read this post.

Aim to move your body for at least 30 minutes a day.

You’ll feel happier and more energetic after you exercise!

4. Get Enough Sleep

If you are a parent like me, then you may roll your eyes now. What is sleep, Right?

Sleep is when your body rests and repairs itself, so it’s very important for your health.

Kids need about 9 to 11 hours of sleep every night to feel their best.

To make sure you get enough sleep, try to go to bed at the same time every night. Also, avoid using screens (like phones or tablets) right before bed.

A good night’s sleep helps you focus better, stay in a good mood, and have energy for the day ahead.

If you struggle with sleep, try keeping a notebook by your bed to offload your thoughts throughout the night.

5. Brush Your Teeth

Seems like an obvious one right? But you would be amazed at how many people skip this or just brush once a day.

Taking care of your teeth is part of staying healthy, too!

Brush your teeth twice a day – once in the morning and once before bed – for two minutes each time.

Don’t forget to floss daily to clean between your teeth.

Healthy teeth help you eat your food properly and smile brightly.

Plus, brushing helps keep your breath fresh!

There’s nothing worse than trying to chat with someone or get intimate when the other person’s breath reeks.

6. Wash Your Hands

Washing your hands is one of the easiest ways to keep yourself from getting sick.

Germs are everywhere, and they can make you sick if they get into your body as we all know.

Always wash your hands with soap and water before eating. Also after using the bathroom, and after being outside.

7. Spend Time Outside

Getting fresh air and sunlight is great for your body and mind.

Sunlight helps your body make vitamin D, which is important for strong bones.

Spending time outside also makes you feel happy and relaxed.

You can go for a walk, ride your bike, or have a picnic at the park.

Just remember to wear sun cream to protect your skin from the sun!

8. Eat Healthy Snacks

Snacking can be part of a healthy diet if you choose the right snacks.

Snacking is my downfall if I’m honest.

Instead of reaching for crisps or sweets, try healthier options. Like nuts, yoghurt, fruit, or whole-grain crackers.

They fill you up for longer too.

Healthy snacks give you energy and keep you full between meals. It’s okay to have a treat once in a while.

9. Take Breaks From Screens

While watching TV, playing video games, or using a tablet can be fun, too much screen time isn’t good for your body or mind.

Did you know you can get addicted to your phone?

Keep an eye on how much you use tech and what you reach for when you sit down.

It’s important to take breaks from screens throughout the day to rest your eyes and get moving.

Instead of screens, you can read a book, go outside, or do something creative with the kids.

10. Be Kind and Positive

Being kind to yourself and others is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

When you are kind, you make the people around you feel happy, and it makes you feel good, too.

You can show kindness by helping a friend or complimenting people.

It’s also important to be kind to yourself – don’t be too hard on yourself if you make a mistake.

Stay positive, and always try your best!

Bonus Tip: Talk About Your Feelings

Part of staying healthy is taking care of your mental health, too.

If you are struggling with your feelings or other mental health issues, it’s important to talk to someone you trust.

Maybe a partner, professional, or friend.

Talking about your feelings helps you feel better and lets others know how to support you.
