Wake Up Early
If you are like me and have kids you are up early anyway or maybe you just like the peace that comes with the sunrise.
Waking up early gives you a head start on the day, I am always so productive first thing rather than later in the day and that seems obvious right? But we may not make the conscious decision to do active tasks or ones that require brain power first thing.
Mornings provide you with quiet time to focus on your tasks without distractions or minimal distractions at least.
Aim to wake up at least an hour before your usual start time to ease into the day.
Hydrate First Thing
Morning habits like this one are often underrated. But starting your day by drinking a glass of water can improve concentration and mood.
Hydrating after hours of sleep jumpstarts your metabolism, flushes out toxins, and helps you feel more awake and alert.
So easy and has a huge impact on us, and yet how many of us do this?
Exercise Or Stretch
All the best morning habits include some form of physical activity, whether it’s a full workout, a short run, or yoga.
I love doing a quick workout first thing.
If I wake up with a bit of a hump then getting my heart rate up really improves my mood even if I only work out for 10 minutes.
Exercise increases blood flow, boosts energy levels, and improves our mental health.
Eat A Healthy Breakfast
Giving your body a healthy breakfast seems like a no-brainer but how many of us skip breakfast or have cereal or toast?
Cereals and toast will only lead us to have an energy crash, it is best to avoid these if you want to improve your productivity and health.
Instead opt for foods rich in protein, fibre, and healthy fats to keep you full and full of energy throughout the morning.
Make this part of your morning habits and you will notice very quickly how effective a small change can be.
Practice Mindfulness Or Meditation
As you know I am a big fan of mindfulness and meditation and you can find out how I do mine here.
This was one I added to my morning habits a long time ago and I actually do this as part of my bedtime routine too but it has benefitted myself and my children on a daily basis.
Spend a few minutes in meditation or mindfulness practice. If you are not sure how that’s fine, I have you covered.
This can reduce stress, improve focus, and set a positive tone for the day.
Apps like Headspace, Calm and my favourite Smiling Mind can guide you through quick meditation sessions.
Plan Your Day
I love planning as you know and as part of my morning habits, I use my planner, which you can get to here.
This helps me set my goals, and times and not overload myself with too much to only feel like a failure for not completing all my tasks, If this is you then try my planner and you can plan your day and have time for some self-care.
Take a few minutes to outline your goals and tasks for the day.
Use my planner or organiser to list your tasks and schedule your activities. This helps you stay organised and ensures you focus on what’s important.
Avoid Digital Distractions
Oh, how many of us fall into this trap multiple times a day?
Resist the urge to check your phone or email first thing in the morning.
Give yourself time to wake up and prepare for the day without getting caught up in notifications and social media.
Trust me you will thank me for making this part of your morning habits.
Something Inspirational
Adding a few minutes of reading or listening to something motivational, maybe a podcast, music or a book, sets a positive mindset for the day.
Practice Gratitude
This is something again I added to my morning habits long ago but it is also something we do as a family at the dinner table.
It is a great way to connect, be present and know what’s going on with your children and partner.
Take a moment to reflect on things you’re grateful for.
Writing down a few things that you appreciate or discussing them with a loved one, can improve your mood and encourage a positive view on the day ahead.
Be Mindful About Getting Ready
Spend time dressing and getting ready in a way that makes you feel confident and prepared.
Whether you’re working from home or heading to the office, adding this to your morning habits can make you feel good about your appearance and improve your self-esteem and productivity.
To Conclude
Adding these morning habits at the start of your day can significantly improve your productivity and overall well-being.
Start small though otherwise, you won’t be able to keep up with your new morning habits. Then you can add one or two habits and gradually build up your routine.
Remember, consistency is key.
By making time for your morning habits, you’ll set yourself up for success and make the most out of each day.

The person behind it all
I am a Mumma of three, a Wife, a Home Educator, a Blogger and lastly a Chronic Pain Sufferer.
The most common questions I get asked are “How do I get my hair curly, is it natural?” “
“How are you so organised?”
“You must be really smart to educate your children, are you a teacher?”
and lastly “What is CRPS?”
I have suffered from chronic pain since the age of 10, it has been a daily struggle ever since.
I know thousands of people suffer as I do and I want to share what helps me and my expertise in CRPS, chronic pain and more.
So, I started this blog to share my answers to those questions, journey and experiences with you. I have always been passionate about health, personal growth, and creating a balanced lifestyle for myself and my family.
Searching for ways to enjoy life in a minimalistic way, be part of my children’s education and reduce stress and pain as a whole is important to me.
